Conduction units heat the chamber walls directly. They are cheaper, heat up in seconds, and are the more common design. Convection units pass hot air through the material instead, which gives better flavour and a more even extraction, but costs more and takes longer to warm up. Hybrids do a bit of both.
Chamber size decides how much you load at once. Battery life and whether it charges over USB-C decide how annoying it is to live with. Removable batteries are worth paying for on a device you plan to keep.
Grind fine and pack evenly — a coarse or loose pack is the usual reason a vaporizer tastes weak. Start at a lower temperature and step up through the session; the first draws carry the most flavour and the last carry the most body.
