Description

A full-weld banger means the neck and the bucket are fused rather than joined with a visible seam. Seams are where bangers crack — the weld point takes the thermal stress every heat cycle — so a full weld is a durability spec, not a cosmetic one.

The hourglass profile narrows between the bucket and the joint, which slows airflow slightly and keeps vapour in contact with the quartz for longer.

Before ordering

• Angle: 90 degrees — for rigs with a vertical joint. A 45° rig needs a 45° banger.
• Joint size: check 14mm or 18mm against your piece.
• Gender: male and female are not interchangeable.

Technique

Heat to a glow, cool 30–45 seconds, add a small amount, cap and rotate. Swab with a cotton bud while still warm — that habit is the difference between quartz that stays clear for a year and quartz that clouds in a month.
