Description
A refillable jet lighter styled as a highlighter pen. Slim, pocketable and discreet, with a proper wind-resistant jet flame rather than a soft flame.
Why a jet flame
A soft flame lighter is fine for papers and bowls. A jet burns hotter and far narrower, and it stays lit in wind — which is why people carry them outdoors, and why they are the only sensible option for dabs and cigars.
Butane quality matters more than the torch
Cheap, unrefined butane leaves residue that clogs the jet, and a clogged jet is why most torches fail. Use butane refined to at least five times, and stick with one brand once the torch is running well. We stock refills alongside the torches.
Refilling and purging
- Let the torch cool completely and turn the gas dial to minimum.
- Hold it upside down, press the refill valve straight on with the can vertical, and fill in short bursts until gas spits back.
- Before the first fill of a new torch — and any time the flame sputters — purge the tank: press the valve with a small screwdriver until all the air hisses out.
- Let a freshly filled torch sit two or three minutes before lighting so the gas settles.
Air trapped in the tank is the single most common cause of a weak, yellow or non-igniting flame.
Safety
Never store a torch in direct sunlight or a hot car. Keep the flame away from the body of the torch while adjusting the dial. Check the child lock before it goes in a pocket. Adults 21 and over.
